Wimbledon is a Tennis capital of the world and makes its place in some of the most prestigious Tennis competitions and tournaments that are available to Tennis athletes. This means that if you make it to Wimbledon on your skills alone, then you are one of the best players in the world. If you are not a Tennis player, but simply enjoy the matches and other attractions in Wimbledon, you will need a form of transportation that is reliable and can get you anywhere you need to be. One of the best forms of ground transportation is through the use of car rental options.

Car rental options are cheap and affordable to you when you use special websites to book your car online. Using specialized websites to book your rental car online can surely save you time and money that could be used in better ways elsewhere. These sites take advantage of comparison search results that give you the best low cost and low rates of rental car vehicles available to you. The cars offered to you come from the highest rated and most trusted companies in the car rental industry. You can rest assured knowing that the vehicle you get on this site is a reliable and low cost solution to your Wimbledon transportation.

You can surely see many matches in Wimbledon with a low cost vehicle and after, you can celebrate and visit a bar or another attraction to enjoy your time there. If you want to take advantage of lower rates you have to act quick though because the closer it gets to match time, there are less vehicles available for rent and prices seem to go up for sporting events because companies can make money from the price hike. Reserving in advance allows you to lock in a low rate and ensures that you get the vehicle you need during your stay in Wimbledon.

Interesting Stories from the 2009 Wimbledon Tennis Tournament

Because it is a sporting event that gets attention around the world each year, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that there are always some interesting stories that arise from this prestigious tournament. Although the tournament has not come to an end yet (which means that there is a very good chance that additional stories will arise), I thought this would be the perfect time to recap the stories that have come out of Wimbledon so far this year:

The first closing of the Centre Court roof: On June 29th, the roof which had just been recently constructed at Centre Court was closed for the first time as a result of rain. Although it delayed the match between Amelie Mauresmo and Dinara Safina (where Safina eventually became the winner), the match that followed between Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka was the first full match to be played under the newly constructed roof (Murray eventually became the winner of this match).

A ballgirl playing against Tommy Haas: During a match with Michael Llodra, Llorda injured himself by running into a ballgirl. After this incident, Haas played against another ballgirl. Although the ballgirl eventually lost, Haas gained good press for giving her the opportunity to play him.

Concerns over suspicious betting activity: An investigation lead officials to undercover potential plans of match fixing. Not only was it alleged that these plans involved groups related to the Russian and Italian Mafia, but there were also allegations that players were going to be potentially involved in these scandals. However, although it has been announced that several betters have been arrested, no charges have been brought against any players.
