Wimbledon is one of the biggest and most popular sporting events in Britain and is arguably the biggest tennis event on the world calendar. With a ticket to Centre Court being one of the hottest available it is essential that the car park is able to cope with the 15,000 capacity crowd that arrives many times every year; particularly when the tournament reaches the latter stages or one of the top world players is playing. Of course, if the car park was run to make money then it could do so very easily; people need to park and will do so regardless of the price. However, this is certainly not what is happening. Parking for the day is only £20 and, although it may be somewhat limited, it is definitely worth this small expense.
The last thing you want to be doing in the evening after watching an intense game of tennis is walk for miles in the crowded darkness to catch a bus or train and, let’s face it; there is no chance that you will be able to catch a taxi with thousands of other people trying to do the same! Therefore, the car park offers a perfect solution. It is a very short walk from the stadium which means that there is no hassle when you have left the stadium and you can proceed home without a problem. This is certainly not what would happen if you chose to catch the train after the event instead, so the only option is to use the car park!
