Looking at a Wimbledon to Luton Airport trip can be easy. With Wimbledon growing in stature and real estate prices exploding in response, it would be wise that one tries to save some money when they travel. That is why using a smaller airport like Luton is good; the low-cost carriers use such airports. Luton Airport is a base for bargain carriers like EasyJet and Ryanair.

Getting from Wimbledon to Luton Airport has some options. The easiest but most expensive is using a taxicab or car service. It takes little more than a phone call for service to be arranged and there are no hassles. Very good if one is traveling with a number of people who can help split the bill. Or it is a good option for traveling with a lot of (or heavy) luggage that just would be problematic on public transportation.

A more standard approach is to use a train. Fortunately, Luton Airport Parkway has been recently established to bring rail to the airport. Although it is not direct to the terminal, there is still a shuttle from the railway station to the airport terminal. Nevertheless, one can take a two and half hour trip from Wimbledon to Luton Airport and hopefully save some money. Unfortunately, it does take two transfers on this trip. Take the South West Trains from Wimbledon to Waterloo Station. Transfer to the tube to get from Waterloo to Pancras International. Then return to the train on First Capital Connect to Luton Airport Parkway. This is a convoluted route but could be better than spending dollars on a car service.
